Basketball Boy

We are in the throws of the sports season at the Swanson home. Jaron really wanted to try basketball this season and he is enjoying it. He is the only first grader on his team, but hangs in with the other kids just fine. We normally don't do basketball because it overlaps with the hockey season, but we made it work. Jaron is starting to understand the basics of the game with defense, offense, and shooting the ball. Dribbling, on the other hand, he is still working on. It is the funniest thing to watch him dribble down the court to about the top of the key and run the ball in with both hands to shoot. The refs usually laugh and remind him to dribble. It's great. His favorite part of the games is the snack afterwards. We only have a few weeks left, and it's a good thing because hockey has started.

Jaron lining up his shot and giving us a thumbs up from the bench.
Jaron always misses about the last 5 seconds of each period because he is covering his ears anticipating the loud buzzer. Gotta love this kid.

I think that its funny that he closes his ears. Matthew covers his ears when we use public toilets and they flush. Sweet children!!!
